  • The 4 mile Paddle is up and down the Swan River.
  • The Bike ride is a beautiful 14 mile ride with a combination of hills and flat surfaces.
  • The 4 mile Run is down the Swan River Road and the Swan River Nature Trail.

  • Paddle: lst leg: 4 mile paddle, Go down river 1 mile, around the buoys above the dam and go up river for 2 miles, around the buoys and return 1 mile down river to the bridge to finish the paddle section. Team member must hand off wrist band to the next member.
  • Bike: 2nd leg: 14 mile road bike. Route begins at bridge and proceeds down the Swan River Road to Hwy 83,(Echo Lake Cafe'/Swan River Grange). Turn right onto Hwy 83, heading east. Watch for turn at Hwy 209 (Road HouseBar on left). Turn right on 209 towards Ferndale to the flashing yellow light and Fire Hall, turn right onto Ferndale Drive until you come to the end of the pave ment and the marked turn around point. Follow same road back out. Turn right back onto Hwy 209 toward Bigfork, going west to the Swan River Road and Bridge, turn right and finish on north end of bridge. Team member must hand off wrist band to the next member.
  • Run: 3rd leg: 4 mile run, Head back north on Swawn River Road about 9/10ths of a mile to a turn around and back to the bridge and transition area. Run proceeds down the Swan River Nature Trail back to down-town to Bigfork and ends at the Garden Bar.
  • Eat & Drinks: 4th leg: Your entry will get you free beer or pop and some where between a "free" to, or "greatly discounted" burger at the Garden Bar.
  • Cash: 5th leg: We traditionally give out cash to top placers. How much cash and how deep we pay depends on number of entries. Stick around. You might be in the money!

  • To get to the bridge drive south out of Bigfork to the flashing light at turn off for Hwy 209. Turn left, drive 2 miles to entrance for the Swan River Road and bridge on left. Park there before going over bridge, so the transition area will be less congested.

    Swim 0.65 miles, Bike 13.3 miles, Run off-road 4.2 miles
    Location: Madison Arm Resort - Hebgen lake
    Price: $40.00 plus USAT One Day Insurance
    Course Info: The water will be tested for contaminants prior to the Race. A wet suit is required for the swim.
  • Swimmers will start from the shore of the Madison Arm Resort in waves of 50. No less than 6 boats with flags and spotters will picket the swim course to wave off approaching boats, and PWCs, as well as pick swimmers from the water if needed.
  • The bicycle portion of the race will start at Madison Arm Resort and proceed SE on FSR 1731 to the junction of FSR 1731 and FSR 1730. There they will proceed NW to the Junction of FSR 1730,FSR 6699, and FSR 291. then SE on FS6699 to the junction of FS 1731 and back to the resort. Total of 13.3 miles
  • The run portion of the Triathlon starts at the resort proceeds NW on FS 291 to the junction of FS 6699 then North on FSR 6699 to the Junction of FSR 1731, where they turn south to the “Y” then northeast to the Resort. This is 5.2 Miles. The event will start at 10:00 A.M. and should be completed by 1:00 PM. Participant will be placed in age categories per the USA Triathlon Requirements.
    Directions To Race: From West Yellowstone 3.5 Miles North on Hwy. 191/287, then 5.5 miles NW on Forest Service Road # 291. On the South Shore of the Madison Arm of Hebgen Lake

    Location: The Summit Fitness Center - 205 Sunnyview Lane
    Course Info: Beautiful and scenic course with hills on paved streets. Swim portion is done in an indoor swimming pool - This is a fun event that some have described as a “Beginners Triathlon”. This Triathlon consists of a ˝ mile swim in the indoor pool followed by a 20 Kilometer bicycle ride on beautiful rolling hills, followed by a 5 kilometer run on the streets surrounding The Summit. The Duathlon is a new addition to the days events. The Duathlon consists of a 5K run, 20K bike, 5K run. Triathlon is limited to 156 entries. Duathlon has no entry limit.

  • The swim is very flat and fast. You may see a shark, dolphin or a clown on the swim.
  • Lots of single and double track on the bike course. Double track on the climbs, downhill is fast and fun.
  • Run course is in the woods on meandering single track trails.

    Directions: From I-90, take the 19th Ave exit and go south towards downtown Bozeman.
  • Follow 19th avenue south through town and continue following 19th Ave. until the road bends to the right (west). Approx, 1 mile west of the big bend will be the Hyalite Canyon Road turn-off.
  • Turn left onto Hyalite Canyon Road and go about 9 miles until you get to Hyalite Reservoir/dam.
  • The transition area and finish line will be straight ahead-drop offs only.

    Course Info: Half-mile swim; 20K bike; 5K run
  • THE SWIM: The Swim is a ˝ mile point-to-point swim. It starts at the far right side of Whitefish City Beach and proceeds across the small bay to a buoy. Swimmers come back to the right corner of the public swim area. Follow the roped area to the left side of the city beach. We haven’t a clue what the water temperature will be at the end of August. If summer weather holds it will be warm; however if there is a windstorm stirring up cold water, it will be cold. Conclusion: bring your wet suit.
  • THE BIKE: The bike is a scenic 20K out-and-back traveling along Whitefish Lake. The first and last 4 miles are flat and fast. The middle 4 miles are challenging hills with turns that will test your conditioning and bike handling skills.
  • THE RUN: The Run is a 5K starting and ending at Whitefish City Beach. 90% of the course is on quiet city street, traveling mostly on Dakota Ave. to whitefish Lake Lodge and back. See Map for details.

  • Swim: 1.5 Kilometers - Two counter-clockwise loops with a 50 yard beach sprint in between. Provided swim cap must be worn.
  • Bike: 40 Kilometers - Course is rolling with two turn arounds. Helmet Required. Drafters shot on site by motorcycle patrol.
  • Run: 10 Kilometers - Mixed roads with a sizable hill. 2 aid stations on course. Race number must be worn on front side.
    Directions To Race: Off I-90 west of Missoula, MT, at Frenchtown Exit #89. Follow signs to Frenchtown Pond State Park.
