Course Info: All New Course and Venue! The Odyssey is great for athletes looking for a very demanding 1-day race that encompasses mountain biking, trekking, orienteering, canoeing, and ropes skills. The course provides lots of elevation gain and loss and spectacular scenery among the Blue Ridge Mountains. Many teams will want to use The Odyssey as a tune-up race for the BEAST of the EAST, Endorphin FIX and the Mega Dose as it is the same team format – 2 or 4-person teams and soloists. This is an unsupported race, meaning no assistance crews are required.

Course Info: (May 1 – May 7) - The only event of it’s kind! In this 7-day course, participants will experience parachuting, scuba diving, map and compass, land navigation and SEAL “Hell Week” type physical training evolutions. Lessons and certification in parachuting and scuba diving are included in the package, including pool, Bay and open ocean scuba dives, and 14,000-foot sky dives. Other activities include those in the SEAL Adventure Challenge description.

Course Info Triathlon: Respected as a very unconventional and physically demanding triathlon, this race incorporates elements of adventure racing in the disciplines. The swim takes place in beautiful Sherando Lake, and is followed by a run/hike. Racers climb to the top of Torry Ridge Trail, proceed along the ridgeline then run back down the mountain. The PRO bike section is a double loop mainly on single track, while the Sport class is one loop. Competitors will race up the rocky mountain at the beginning of each loop - a Herculean effort that often makes or breaks competitors. If that’s not enough, we now offer the PRO EXTREME COURSE! Competitors will add a lap in the run and bike section …. .9-mile swim/16-mile run/33-mile mountain bike! Only the toughest need apply!
Course Info Duathlon: Racers will run 8 miles on trails along the lake and streams that are nestled in Sherando’s wooded hills. Then bike a 11-mile loop that encompasses climbing, log-jumping, single-track riding and a challenging descent.

Location: Pocahontas State Park
Course Info: Each Muddy Buddy Ride & Run features a 6-7 mile course with 6 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the first obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive and complete the obstacle, then find their bike and begin riding. Teams will continue trading off and "leapfrogging" each other throughout the entire course. At the end of the race, racers will find the infamous Mud Pit, and after conquering the slimy pit, will cross the finish line together!

Held in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, this competition will truly challenge even the most experienced athletes with it’s extraordinary climbs and fast downhills. The atmospheric midnight start under the Natural Bridge gets racers warmed up for the ensuing whitewater swimming, biking, and trekking to the finish line. Get ready for an exciting fixed ropes course designed by the Dirty Dozen. The course, with its extreme elevation gains and losses, is designed with only the most serious of adventure racers in mind. Teams of 2 and 4 persons, as well as soloists will compete in this unsupported race. A great race to round out the Odyssey Adventure Racing season.

Course Info: The course, which has been slightly altered from last year's race, includes 4 miles of canoeing, 11 miles of trail running, 12 miles of mountain biking, and several new mentally and physically intense team challenges. VentureQuest fosters teamwork through competition - teams of three start together, compete together, and finish together. The projected length of the race is 5 - 9 hours. VentureQuest is an unsupported race. Teams must supply their own food and hydration during the course of the race.
