Course Info: Described as one of the most beautiful courses in New England, the Maine State Triathlon draws athletes from throughout Maine, NH, VT, NY, MA and Quebec. The event will start with a 1K swim at the Bethel Inn Lakehouse on Songo Pond (3 miles south of Bethel on Rt.5), then take you on your bike for a 25K ride down scenic Route 5 back to downtown historic Bethel where you will run through fields, roads, and on the well-maintained wooded cross-country trails at Gould Academy for a 5K run to the finish. Gift certificates for winners and some other prizes. Come and see for yourself why this is quickly becoming one of the most popular triathlons around! Teams or individuals. Organized by the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce.
Directions To Race: Directions = Bethel, Maine is located at the intersections of Routes 2, 26, & 5. Gould Academy, the location of the bike/run transition AND the run finish AND the awards ceremony is located at 60 Church Street, Bethel (if you want to do a map search)!

Directions: To Winslow Park
  • From the South: Take 95 North and get off at Exit 17 (Yarmouth/Freeport Exit) At the exit ramp take Route One North. You will pass the Muddy Rudder Restaurant, Freeport Inn and Cafe on your right. At the top of the hill after the Freeport Inn, take a right onto South Freeport Road (if you pass the Big Indian, you've gone too far). Take a right onto Staples Point Road (there is a wooden sign for Winslow Park at the corner of South Freeport Road and Staples Point Road) Stay on Staples Point Road all the way to the end of the peninsula and you will come into Winslow Park.
  • From the North: Take 95 South and get off at Exit 19. Take a left at the end of the exit ramp. At the first traffic light after the overpass take a right onto Route One South. Stay on Route One South until you come to South Freeport Road. Take a left onto South Freeport Road (at the Big Indian) Take a right onto Staples Point Road (there is a wooden sign for Winslow Park at the corner of South Freeport Road and Staples Point Road) Stay on Staples Point Road all the way to the end of the peninsula and you will come into Winslow Park.

    Run 3.1 miles, Bike 16 miles, Run 2.5 miles

    Course Info: This is primarily a flat course through the town of Eliot. Streets will be lined with big old colorful Maple trees. The bike course takes you along the Piscataqua River . . . a favorite route for many local riders.
    Directions To Race From the South: Route 95 North to Exit #1/Dennett Road in Maine (Just after the bridge into Maine). Right at bottom of ramp. This will take you into downtown Eliot. Fire Station and Town Hall will be on your left.
    Directions To Race From the North: Route 95 South to Exit 3/Kittery/236 exit. Left at end of ramp on to 236 north. Go to second traffic and turn left (Beech Road). Go to end and turn right on State Road. Fire Station and Town Hall will be on your left.
