Thanks to race sponsors Pro-Velo Cycle Sport, Miller Lite, Sedalia Surgery Center and Total Fitness Gym. Special thanks to Don Luper and Barnie Knight for making the special ceramic awards. Thanks, too, to race volunteers Maria Mittelhauser, Gregg Foster, Terry Harms, Dalton Luper, Troy Ives, Caleb Ives, Karla Lang, Phillip Sawyer, Ron Yates, Ryan Manuel and my sons. This was our fourth and biggest fall duathlon. The threatening weather backed off half an hour before the race and although the road was damp for the first half of the race, it posed no major problems. On a personal note, this was my best time and worst place. I hope to see this trend continue for several years to come. Our spring into summer duathlon will be the second Saturday in June. Any suggestions for improvements—a couple weeks later? Distances? Award categories too confusing? Final question—Exactly what direction was the wind blowing during the cycling leg? Jeff Mittelhauser
