Triathlon ::: Swim ¼ mile, Bike 18 miles, Run 3.1 miles
5k / 10K: Run 3.1 or 6.2 miles
 
Start Time: 1:30 pm EST
Location: Start and finish of all events in downtown Grand Marais at the Bayshore Park Bandstand

Course Info: 1/4m swim; 18 mile bike; 5k run Contestants will begin with a 1/4 mile swim in Grand Marais Bay. For those that are unfamiliar, the bay is open to Lake Superior and the warmest it gets is Labor Day Weekend. The swim will definitely wake you up for the start of the race!
  • Next is a 13.6 mile bike race through the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, west of town on a newly paved asphalt road passing by waterfalls and Grand Sable Lake in the shadow of the Grand Sable Dunes; remember, this is a race so don't let the scenery slow you down!
  • The final leg of the race, a 5K run going east of Grand Marais, begins and ends at Bayshore Park in downtown Grand Marais. This route takes runners along Grand Marais Bay, through magnificent stands of timber on a secluded country road, and back to town along the same route.
     
    More: Ribbons for top 3 in each age group & teams.
  • T-shirts for all participants.
  • Run and bike are on open road. Certified helmets are required!
