The 3rd Annual Trail Run Series

The Series will consist of three races.  Each race will be around five miles and each participant has the option to run or walk or both.  There will be a series shirt for participants who enter at least two of the three races.  All races will meet at the East Mink Creek Nordic Center. Tips

Difficult sections may be marked with arrows, but all racers are responsible for watching for injurious sections and obstacles.  We recommend substantial trail running shoes and discourage track style shoes.  Depending on temperatures the courses may be frozen, rocky, muddy, firm, hard, mushy or weedy. We have had these all in the same race.  We will have the yurts warm and ready to warm up bodies.  The weather is unpredictable!  Bring extra layers, including light layers.  Pre-run or walk the course so you know when to use your reserves.  Some of the courses are deceptive.

Divisions

We are going to try something new this year!!  Instead if age divisions you now sign up for divisions based on you skill/fitness level.  We will try three divisions per gender.  With only 50 racers per event we needed a better way to get everyone competing at some level.

̃    Elite- runners who plan to be in the hunt for the lead or can at least hang with them for a while.

̃    Sport- Those who can run the whole course at a modest pace but will finish well behind the leaders.  They have the competitive spirit but not necessarily the time to train manically.

̃    Recreation- These racers will jog/walk and finish when they please.  Walkers should sign up here, but are now able to burst into a jog if the vibe hits them.
