- Course Info: The Odyssey Off-Road Triathlon is not by any means a "typical" triathlon. Respected as an unconventional and very physically demanding competition, this race incorporates elements of adventure racing in the disciplines. The PRO course consists of a .9-mile swim, which takes place in beautiful Sherando Lake, and is followed by an 8-mile run/hike. Racers climb to the top of Torry Ridge Trail, proceed along the ridgeline then run back down the mountain. The 22-mile bike section is a double loop mainly on single track. Competitors will race up the rocky mountain at the beginning of each loop - a Herculean effort that often makes or breaks competitors. Athletes can chose to do the swim, run and just ONE of the 11-mile bike loops and finish in the SPORT category! Nissan Xterra Points Series athletes must complete the entire PRO course.
