    Course Info: This race will include 6-12 miles of mountain biking, 3-6 miles of trail running and several “hazards” that will take advantage of many of the activities that Nemacolin Woodlands Resort has to offer. All combine for an event lasting 2-4 hours, depending on ability and/or fitness level.
    More: This race will begin with a prologue that will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Prologue is scheduled to take place between 2:00-5:00 pm. Details and individual prologue starting times will be released to registered racers by April 14th.

    Course Info: A first for the area – A half iron distance & sprint distance race in the beautiful and challenging Mountains of the Poconos. It will take place in beautiful Beltzville State Park, just minutes from Jim Thorpe and many other Pocono Mountain Resorts. The park is located in Carbon County.
  • The race begins from the beach and into the picturesque waters followed by a scenic yet challenging bike course; with elevations of more than 650’. The run course is phenomenal. It is an out and back on hard packed scenic trails. The Army Corps of Engineers has given CGI special permission to design the run course where athletes will run across the Beltzville Dam (on a paved trail); offering a panoramic view of the Reservoir.

  • From I-79 and West: Follow U.S. Route 422 East (Butler/New Castle exit) to the Moraine State Park exit. (This is actually the South Shore exit, but the signs for east bound exit just read "Moraine State Park".) Turn left at the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, and get back on U.S. Route 422 heading West. Follow U.S. Route 422 West to "North Shore-Moraine State Park" exit.   • Swim: 1000 meters, average water temp is 70 degrees. Swim will be well marked with buoys & athletes will swim in a clock wise direction, with the buoys on their right. ( DCNR life guards will be stationed at intervals along the swim in kayaks.)
  • Mountain Bike: 11 miles. The mountain bike course is a combination of fire roads, single track trail & some park roads. Terrain is rolling & typical of western Pennsylvania. (Their will be volunteers along the course but there will not be aid stations.)
  • Trail Run: 4.2 miles. The trail run is almost entirely run on single track trails. Some very technical. A good portion of the trail run will follow the Ridge Top Trail, located to the south of the beach parking areas. Terrain is rolling & typical of western Pennsylvania. (There will be 2 water aid stations along the course.) There will be an aid station located at the Start/Transition/Finish area with water, Gatorade, & fruit. Gatorade will be providing plenty of product, including bike bottles full of Gatorade for the bike course.
  • The Start/Transition/Finish area is located near the beach on the south shore. Just off of state road 259.
  • There is plenty of parking, hot showers, a food concession, play grounds for the small children, boat rentals, pretty much anything that you could need for a day of fun.

  • The course runs entirely along the Martin Luther King Drive side of Fairmount Park. The start area is located just off Martin Luther King Drive near Parking Lot #4 The transition area is also located just off Martin Luther King Drive, near the base of Black Road, and the race finishes on Martin Luther King Drive near the base of Black Road.
  • Swim: The .8K swim is a point to point swim downstream in the Schuylkill River. The swim starts just off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Parking Lot #4 and finishes at the transition area near the bottom of Black Road.
  • Bike: After exiting the transition area, participants will ride a two-loop bike course through Fairmount Park that takes place on roads that are completely closed to traffic. The loop contains some fast and flat sections on Martin Luther King Drive as well as some small, short hills.
  • Run: The 5K run is an out and back, starting from the transition area and running toward the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Martin Luther King Drive. The run finishes just before arriving back at the transition area.

    Course Info: The Sprint Triathlon begins and ends at the Southern Branch YMCA.
  • The race distances will consist of a 500 yard swim (20 lengths) in our eight lane pool. There will be two swimmers per lane. A heat sheet will be posted at the pool showing lane assignments and will be announced. (Be ready to swim).
  • The bike portion will be a looped course totaling 12.5 miles.
  • The run will be through nearby developments totaling a distance of 3.0 miles.
    Directions To Race:
  • From the south, take I-83 north cross into Pennsylvania and take the Exit 4 (Shrewsbury). Keep left off the exit and turn left onto PA-851. Go through three traffic lights and turn left onto S. Main St. At the first stop traffic light, turn right onto Constitution Ave. The YMCA is about 500 yards down the road on your left.
  • From the north, take I-83 south and take Exit 4 (Shrewsbury). Keep right off the exit and turn right onto PA-851. Go through two traffic lights and turn left onto S. Main St. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Constitution Ave. The YMCA is about 500 yards down the road on your left.

  • Traveling on I-76E or I-76W (turnpike), take the Harrisburg East exit. Proceed straight to the I-83 split, bear towards the left exit and follow I-83 South to 2nd Street. At the 4th light, turn left onto Market Street and proceed half way across the Market Street Bridge then make a right onto City Island. A large parking lot is available.
  • Traveling on I-83N or I-83S, exit onto 2nd Street and follow the same directions.
  • Traveling north or south on I-81, exit at the Front Street South exit stay on Front Street for approximately 3 miles to the Market Street Bridge turn right and exit onto City Island.
