Course Info:

Swim: 0.4 mile swim in freshwater pond. Wetsuits are permitted. Pond temperature usually at or near 70° F.

Bike: 14.5 miles along flat, back country roads between Pocomoke and Stockton.

Run: 3.5 miles, fast out & back course on grass & asphalt.

Location: Rocky Gap State Park

Course Info: 1/4 mile lake swim followed by an 8 mile rolling country road ride finishing with a 5K run on hard surface in the park.

Two kids triathlons: under 10 short course and 10 to 15 yrs. medium course.

Directions To Race: Located on I68 From Morgantown/Fairmont area take I68 East to Cumberland. Rocky Gap is located 8 Miles east of Cumberland on I68. From the Baltimore/Washington area. Swim: Sandy beach with in water start. 4-5' depth with little or no current. - Wetsuits Permitted

Bike: very little traffic, out/back course with wide bike paths.

Run: Flat out/back 5k run with water at turn-around

More: Event will be professionally timed with splits. This a beautiful setting for a triathlon.

Sunday July 16, 2006 : Flintstone, Maryland: EX2 Off-Road Triathlon

Swim ľ mile, Mountain Bike 14 miles, Trail Run 5 miles

Location: Rocky Gap State Park, 12500 Pleasant Valley Rd. Flintstone, MD 21530

Course Info: This race course consists of a two lap swim in warm clear waters of a mountain lake. In mid-July, the water temperature averages 75 degrees. The two lap mountain biking course skirts the lake on twisty single-track trails before heading up the famed Evitt's Revenge. Racer then head back to the transition area through a mix of open grassy fields and lakeside single-track. The run has rooty trails, smooth open flats, and one big climb

Olympic ::: 1500 meters, Bike 24.9 miles, Run 6.2 miles

Location: North East Community Park

Course Info: CGI Racing presents the North East Triathlon in the beautiful town of North East, Maryland…”The Land of Pleasant Living” is pleased to welcome the sport of triathlon back to town. North East was, for many years, host to one of the most popular triathlons on the East Coast.

Olympic (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run)

The swim will be in the beautiful Chesapeake Bay with water temperatures warm but wet suits should be allowed.

The bike course will be on smooth, paved roads with almost the entire bike course on roads having very wide shoulders (at least 8’ wide). The course starts with an out and back along Rt. 272. The athletes will then pass the transition area and do another out and back on Rt. 7 before returning to the transition area. The terrain is a nice combination of flat and rolling hills.

The run course will be a scenic out and back and will close with an exceptionally spectator friendly loop around the park to the finish line.

Course Info: A two loop 1500 meter course for the international and a one loop 750 meter course for the sprint lead into the awesome bike course that defines the General Smallwood race. With great road surfaces and wide shoulders athletes will have great bike splits. The out and back run takes athletes over a short section of trail and then mostly pavement for the duration of the run with. With the exception of one moderate hill leaving the park the run is mostly flat.

Location: Boat ramp at Public Landing

Course Info: The Coastal Bays Program’s largest annual fundraiser, the sprint distance triathlon includes a half-mile swim in Chincoteague Bay, a 15.2-mile bike course and a 3.1-mile run on the roads surrounding the area. The course meanders through the bucolic countryside of southern Worcester County across from Assateague Island. Proceeds from entrance fees and sponsorships raise money for the Coastal Bays Foundation.
