- Course Info: (1/4mile open water swim, 7 mile mtn bike, 5K trail/road run) - Open water swim across State Park Cove,abundance of water patrol for your safety. Mountain bike course is single track, lots of quad-busting climbs with awesome descents. Run is held on both road and Dakota Nature Trail, hilly terrain. Nothing flat here.

- Directions To Race: Lake Wilson is located five miles north of Interstate 70 between Salina and Hays. Follow Hwy 282 north 5 miles to the Wilson State Park entrance. Cross the bridge and stay on this road for approximately 2 miles, you will see a sign for Hell Creek State Park, turn right. This road will take you to the pay station for park passes and then on to the Wheatgrass camping/swimming area. After the pay station remain on the main road until the second turn-off to the left. This is the Wheatgrass Area where the start and finish line are located. There are lots of signs so as confusing as it may sound it is actually very easy to find.

3rd Annual Freaky Flatlanders Triathlon
- Long Course ::: Swim ½ mile, Bike 30 miles, Run 6.2 miles
- Short Course ::: Swim ¼ mile, Bike 10 miles, Run 3.1 miles

- Course Info: Open water swim across State Park Cove. Bike course is very hilly and will take participants to Sylvan Grove for the long course turnaround and the Dam for the short course turnaround. Run is also hilly with long course turnaround in Otoe Park Area and short course turnaround at the entrance to Hell Creek Park Area.
- More: Do not let the name fool you! This is a very hilly course with some freaky climbing both on the bike and on the foot.
- Accomodations are available at the renovated Midland Hotel in Wilson, KS, approximately 9 miles from the race site. The Hotel has full menu dining for the evening before the race and will be serving a small breakfast the morning of the race.
- The directions to Wheatgrass Area may sound confusing but it is really simple to find there are lots of signs to follow.
- Directions To Race: Lake Wilson is located five miles North of Interstate 70 at the Wilson/Lucas exit. Lake Wilson is situated approximately 50 miles between Hays and Salina. If coming from I70 take Hwy 232 North five miles. Turn left and the Wilson State Park entrance, stay on this road crossing the bridge. You will come to the entrance to Hell Creek State Park, turn right. This road will take you past the ranger pay station for park permits and will continue on to the Wheatgrass camping area. Wheatgrass camping area will be the second left after the pay station.
