    Course Info: 5k run, 28k bike, 5k run - The Shamrock Duathlon race course is comprised of two 5k runs and an exhilarating 28k bicycle trek through the scenic New England backdrop of Glastonbury, Connecticut. Both runs follow the same course, a double loop in the neighborhood of the Irish American Club. Bike course is a 28k loop of rolling hills. A true test of endurance for both seasoned and beginning duathletes of all ages.

    Course Info: A flat, sprint distance race. Swim is a point-to-point coruse in Niantic Bay, an ocean bay with no waves or strong currents. Bike: 12-mile loop through scenic East Lyme with water views and shaded streets. Run: 3.5-mile distance through the beach community of Niantic. Mostly paved roads with a spectacular run across the Bluff to a beach finish. Entire race is at sea level.

  • I-95 from the South: Take Exit 26 Wordin Avenue. Turn slight left onto Pine St. Pine St becomes Admiral St. Turn right onto Iranistan. After approx 800 yards turn right onto Atlantic St. Follow Atlantic St until you enter Seaside Park. Continue towards West Beach where you will be directed to parking and transition area.
  • I-95 from the North: Take Exit 27. At end of off ramp continue straight onto South Avenue. Shortly after South Av. goes under I-95 you reach a T-junction. Turn left onto Iranistan. After approx 800 yards, turn right onto Atlantic St. Follow Atlantic St until you enter Seaside Park. Continue towards West Beach where you will be directed to parking and transition area.
  • From Route 25/8 connector Take Exit 1.     Course Info: Seaside Park is the most spectacular beachside park in the whole of Connecticut - and most people don't even know it is there!! It is a perfect venue for a triathlon event - with 49 acres of landscaped beachside park with 2.5 miles of coastline, spectacular views of the sound, great facilities (and the roads have just been repaved). We promise you won't be disappointed.
  • The swim is a 1.5K course in the Long Island Sound starting and finishing on Seaside Park beach. Estimated water temperature 74є-75єF. Wetsuits permitted.
  • The bike route is 5 loops of 5 miles each - flat and very fast- in the park area. Special wide Champion Chip timing mats will be used to count the laps.
  • The run course is 2 loops of 3.1 miles each, all along the sea for the entire course, flat and very scenic. There will be water stops at the start of the first and second loop and at the turn around

  • The SWIM is a surveyed mile in spring fed, pristine, potable West Hill Lake. Cut off for the SWIM is 45 minutes. If you are in within 5 minutes of the cut off time you will be allowed to finish the race, otherwise you will not be allowed to continue. The SWIM has as many waves as required, 5 minutes apart.
  • The BIKE is diverese, and has gradual climbs, steep climbs, fifty mph downhills and demands your attention.
  • The RUN is rural around a very pretty neighbordhood on pavement

    Course Info: Kids will swim in Choate’s indoor 25 meter pool, bike on trails, and run on the track. All participants will be required to ride fat-tire bikes (tires should be at least 1.25 inches wide and have knobs to grip loose gravel) and wear a bike helmet. Please be advised this bike course will cover some challenging terrain that will include loose gravel, grass, and roots! The course will be monitored and closed to vehicle traffic.

  • FROM THE NORTH: I-91 Take exit 15. Turn right onto Rt. 68. Turn left at third stoplight onto North Farms Road, which becomes North Elm Street. At Christian Street (5th stop sign) turn left for Athletic Center.
  • From the north and south: WILBUR CROSS PARKWAY (RT. 15) Take exit 64. Turn right onto Quinnipiac St. Bear left at Wallace Park, cross over R.R. tracks. Go straight through light (Quinnipiac becomes Center St. at this intersection). Turn left at second light (at top of hill) onto North Main St. Turn right at first stop sign onto Christian Street.
  • FROM THE SOUTH: I-91 Take exit 14. Turn left onto Woodhouse Avenue, go through second light at Center St. (At this point, Woodhouse Avenue becomes East Main St.) At second stop sign turn left onto Christian Street.
  • From the west (Danbury or Waterbury, CT): I-84 Take I-691 exit 10. Follow to Wilbur Cross Parkway/I-91 south exit. Follow directions above.
  • Race Day Parking: Will be available on the road leading up to the pool, Paul Melon Arts Center, and on street parking on Christian St.

  • Swimmers ages 12+ can compete in the One mile lake swim. Clean Lake out and back course.
  • Participants from the ages of 9-12 are encouraged to swim a shortened course (approximately 400 yds).
    Directions To Race: Directions to Pattaconk Reservoir, Cockaponset State Forest, Chester Connecticut.
  • From New Haven: Route 95 to Route 9 North to Exit 6, at end of exit ramp take a left onto Route 148.
  • From Middletown Route 9 South to Exit 6 at end of exit ramp take a right onto Route 148.
  • Follow Route 148 until you see YMCA Camp Hazen on the right (Cedar Lake). Take the first right after Cedar Lake, called Cedar Lake Road. Follow Cedar Lake Road @ 1.3 miles, you will see a sign for Pattaconk State Park on your left
