The lake is clean and clear. Route 293 is very smooth, has very little traffic and has full lane margins. The race is relatively short but it could be quite warm, so drink accordingly throughout the race. Bring your family and let them relax on the beach at the lake during the race.; Directions From the South: Take the Palisades Parkway North (towards Bear Mountain). At the Bear Mountain traffic circle take the 9W North exit (towards West Point). Follow 9W past the first two groups of West Point signs (located at the bottom and top of the hill on 9W). Take the Routes 218 and 293 exit off of 9W. Follow Route 293 (it turns under 9W) for approximately 4 miles until you come to a traffic light. Turn right into Camp Buckner. The transition area is approximately .5 miles from the entrance. At the junction between Route 6 and Route 293 bear left onto Route 293. Follow Route 293 until you come to a traffic light. Turn left into Camp Buckner.
