    Location: Staggered Canoe Start Beneath the Root River Bridge at Hwy 76
    Course Info: Two person canoe teams will journey 6.5 miles on the Root River from Hwy 76 in Houston to the Mound Prairie Bridge for the bike transition, where you will ride 8 miles back towards scenic Houston, with the final leg a 3 mile run into Trailhead Park in Houston.
    Directions To Race: Houston is the "Best of the Bluff Country" in beautiful southeastern Minnesota. From I-90 take Hwy 76 south approximately 15 miles into Houston.
    More: For the second year in a row, we will be using ChampionChip Timing to quickly and automatically compute race results. Your entry fee covers the rental cost of this computer chip strapped to your ankle! As you run over the ChampionChip mat at the beginning and end of each leg of the race, your times are automatically recorded.

    Course Info: The swim goes along the bank of Castaway Club in 5ft water. Spectators can watch from bank to see race unfold. The bike begins with rolling hills, including a climb through the center of camp. It finishes with a long,flat sprint to camp. The 5 mile run goes along Pelican Lake and concludes at Castaway's beach.
    Directions: From Minneapolis, take State Hwy 94 to Fergus Falls. Go north on State Hwy 59 towards Detroit Lakes. Eight miles before Detroit Lakes, look for County Hwy 20 and turn left. Go about 2.5 miles and turn left on County Hwy 31. Castaway Club will be on your right.
    More: Castaway Club is now offering overnight lodging the night before the race. Our chef will also prepare a bottomless pasta bar Friday night and a continental breakfast Saturday morning before the. To check on accomodations, meals and prices for both, log onto the website.

    Course Info: Competitors will begin with a 500-yard swim in Chester Lake followed by a 2.4 mile cross-country run to their bikes. The 15-mile bike will take place on the country roads behind the park. The last leg is a 3.7-mile run on the park trails with the finish line near where the race began.
    Directions To Race: Find Highway 14 and take it East 7 miles from Rochester. The park entrance is just on the otherside of County 19
    More: The race will award the top overall male and female competitors as well as the first three in each age group division. Awards will be given to the top three in Athena (women >160 lb), Clydesdale (men >200 lb), all-female relay, all-male relay, and co-ed relay.
    (The individual event costs $55 plus $9 for a USAT day license for non-USAT members. The relay event costs $75 per team and each non-USAT member needs to purchase a USAT day license for $9. Registration fee includes long-sleeved T-shirt and park day pass. Registration is online at www.midwestevents.com . Paper registration will begin in mid-March. Proceeds from the event will be given to the Rochester Area Family YMCA Y-Mentors.)

    Course Info: The first 5k is a nice flat course around the walking path on Co Rd 8 to 4th St. transitioning into the 14mile bike ride which follows around Little Pine Lake on Co Rd 51 and leads back to the finishing 2.5 mile run again around the walking path.
