    Course Info: Join us for the first every triathlon on Angel Island. Swim .5 miles, bike 10 miles and run 3.1 Miles. Our chartered ferry leaves Tiburon at 6:00 AM. Race begins at 7:00 AM. Swim is within the protected Ayala Cove - wetsuits recommended. Bike is two loops around the flat Perimeter Road - MTN bike required. Run is a trail loop on fire roads. Awards,t-shirts, prizes and great snacks.

  • If you are on Northbound 101 * Take the Mill Valley / Tiburon Exit, turn right, and follow Tiburon Blvd 4 miles into downtown Tiburon. Turn right on Main St. The ferry is located on the left at 21 Main St.
  • If you are on Southbound 101 * Same exit as above, except take a left over the overpass. Instructions from overpass are the same as above.
  • From the East Bay * Start on Interstate 80 or 580. Take 580 West to the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge ($2 toll westbound, no toll eastbound). After crossing the bridge, follow the signs to Sir Francis Drake Blvd / 101 South. You will pass by the Larkspur ferry terminal on the left. Get on 101 South. After about 2 miles, take the Mill Valley / Tiburon Exit, turn left over the overpass, and follow Tiburon Blvd 4 miles into downtown Tiburon. Turn right on Main St. The ferry is located on the left at 21 Main St.
  • From Sacramento * Start on 80 West. About 7 miles after crossing the Carquinez Bridge in Vallejo (no toll westbound, $2 toll eastbound), take the Richmond Pkwy exit. Follow Richmond Pkwy to 580 West. After crossing the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge ($2 toll westbound, no toll eastbound),follow the signs to Sir Francis Drake Blvd / 101 South. You will pass by the Larkspur ferry terminal on the left. Get on 101 South.     Course Info: There will be two competitions - at 1.2-mile and 2.4-mile distances. Age divisions will be every 10 years with fantastic customized award garments 3-deep in each division. Additional raffle prizes will be given to liven up the awards ceremony! The water temperture at Rollins Lake is between 76-80 in August. This lake collects water from the Bear River coming from the high Sierra. Protected by canyon walls, there will be no wind or chop. You simply will not find a more beautiful venue for an open water swim competition! (You may use a wetsuit but will not be eligible for awards.)

  • Swim: The swim will be in the Bay right off of the Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal in Alameda, CA. Wetsuits are recommended. The water temperature is expected to be approximately 60-62 degrees. The course will be lined with large neon buoys, numerous lifeguards and kayak teams.
  • Bike: The 8-mile bike loop starts out of the transition area (Ferry Parking Lot) and goes onto Harbor Bay Parkway. Bikers will continue straight onto Harbor Bay Parkway to the light, and then take a right onto Air Cargo Road. Bikers will follow Air Cargo Road until the end, where they will slow down, turn around and follow Air Cargo Road back to Harbor Bay Parkway. Bikers will follow Harbor Bay Parkway to Doolittle Drive where they will turn around and head back down Harbor Bay Parkway. Bikers will then take a right onto Maitland Drive. Bikers will follow Maitland, and then veer to the left on McCartney. Bikers will continue straight on McCartney until the end, which loops back into the Ferry Terminal Parking lot. (International Bikers will complete the loop 2 more times - 3 loops total) There will be one water stop on the bike course. The bike course is completely flat and fast and we anticipate very little traffic on the course during the race.
  • Run: The TriOne run portions of the race will consist of an out and back course, heading out of the transition area and following a paved path right along the water. The sprint is 3.1 miles and the International is 6.2 miles. The fast and flat run course has gorgeous views of the San Francisco Bay. Don’t forget to look up and enjoy the view!
    Directions To Race From the South: Take 880 North to Hegenberger Road- Head West on Hegenberger Road to Doolittle Drive, Make a Right onto Doolittle, and follow to Harbor Bay Parkway. Make a Left onto Harbor Bay Parkway and follow to Ferry Parking Lot.

There are no waves inside the breakwall where the swim takes place. Wetsuits are allowed. Scenic bike on Shoreline Drive, Queensway Bridge and past the Queen Mary. Fast run course adjacent to Shoreline Village and the Marina.
