November 13, 2004 ::: Mobile, Alabama: Y Wee Tri kids triathlon: Kid's Triathlon; Start Time: 8am; Location: Hearin-Chandler YMCA 951 Downtowner Blvd, Mobile, AL; Phone: Michelle Daoust 251-344-4856; Price: $15 before 11/10/04; $20 therafter; Course Info: 1 or 3 mile run/ 3 or 4.5 mile bike/ 100 or 4.5 mile swim; More: 2nd Annual kids triathlon at the Hearin-Chandler YMCA on Downtowner Blvd. Age groups are 7-10, 11-14 and 15+; Distances are 1 mile run, then 3 mile bike (7-10years) or 4.5 bike (11 and up) and finish with a 100 yard swim (7-10) or 150 yard swim (11 and up). The swim is indoors. Cost is $15 before Nov. 10th and $20 thereafter. Although there is no stated participant limit, it may be cut off around 75 kids (we had about 35 last year). Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. No training wheels or floatation devices are allowed. It was alot of fun for the kids and adults, so I would encourage everyone to participate and at least volunteer.
