Course Info: On May 6th, American Sports Events will host a clinic at the Bristol, Rhode Island Community Center, starting at 6:30PM. All are encouraged to attend; there is no fee for this event. The goal of the clinic is to provide useful overview information to those interested in the triathlon and the Try the Tri! Series, specifically.
Directions: Thames St Bristol, RI
We are excited to offer participation from leaders in the local triathlon community, including founders of the local triathlon club, Amy Rice of Wakefield, Rhode Island, who placed sixth in last year's World Championships and members of Caster's Bicycle and Fitness in Warwick, who will discuss and demonstrate the importance of fitting the bike to the participant.
Our agenda is being finalized and will include the following agenda:

  • The Importance of Bike Fit
  • Training for the Run
  • Transition Strategy
  • Product Raffle
    By filling out the registration form you will be eligible for our raffle, taking place at the end of the event. Lots of cool stuff to give away from:

    Swim 1500 meters, Bike 24.9 miles, Run 6.2 miles
    Start Time: 7am
    Location: Grinnell's Beach in the historic Stone Bridge area of Tiverton, Rhode Island
    Price Individuals: $75.00 (USAT members) $84.00 (non-members) $90.00 after June 1st
    Price Teams: $125.00 / $140.00 after June 1st./ All relay team members must sign up for one day USAT membership on site, or display annual membership card
    Course Info: The roads are flat, fast and safe
    (Tiverton is in southeast Rhode Island, 23 miles southeast of Providence)

    Swim 500 meters, Bike 12 miles, Run 3 miles

    Price: $45 - (relay $95)
    Course Info: The swim is in a warm clean harbor, (wet suits allowed but are not necessary). The bike course exits the harbor area and is on closed paved road. The run is on an out and back course along the start of the bike route. These events are non-competitive and split times are not recorded. However, the final series event (Try for Real) in September will provide accurate timing for all segments of the race, including transition times. The goal is to provide an experience that is instructive and motivational.
    Directions From Boston: Take I-195 E via exit number 20- on the left- toward CAPE COD. (8.66 miles) Merge onto MA-136 S via exit number 2 toward WARREN R.I./US-6 E/NEWPORT R.I. (3.68 miles) Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto RI-136/METACOM AVE. (2.26 miles) Turn RIGHT onto GOODING AVE. (0.81 miles) Turn LEFT onto RI-114/HOPE ST.
    Directions From Providence: Take US I-195 (8.11 miles) Merge onto MA-136 S via exit number 2 toward WARREN R.I./US-6 E/NEWPORT R.I.. (3.68 miles) Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto RI-136/METACOM AVE. (2.26 miles) Turn RIGHT onto GOODING AVE. (0.81 miles) Turn LEFT onto RI-114/HOPE ST.

    The Try the Tri! series will launch in July and is intended to introduce the sport to those interested in expanding their event repertoire, while providing a platform for the seasoned triathlete. Events will be presented at Colt State Park in historic Bristol, RI. The entire western border of the park is an open panorama onto Narragansett Bay.
