Swim: The swim will take place in Raineybrook Bay, a beautiful lake on the southern border of Lafayette. Expected water temperature is 72o so bring your wetsuits if you have one. If you don't have a wetsuit, it's no big deal, 72o is plenty warm to swim without a wetsuit. The lake itself is clear and clean with depth ranging from 10-20 feet. ·
Bike: The bike will be on paved roads surrounding the lake. The course stays in Tippecanoe County and travels through its beautiful farm land. Expect windy conditions and some rolling hills. Direction arrows will be painted on the road, signs will be posted, and volunteers will be there to guide you along the correct course. There will be a water bottle hand up at approximately half way where you can get your BoilerMan collectible water bottle. Helmets are required and draft marshalls will be patroling the course watching for drafters. ·
Run: The run will start out off-road around the lake for the first 1.5 miles. This section is flat and smooth from light traffic by the owners of the property. After that the remainder of the run will be on the roads surrounding the lake. There will be aid stations every 1 to 2 miles and the run will finish back at the transition area.
Directions To Race: From Lafayette and West Lafayette: Take 26 E from West Lafayette and 26 W from Lafayette to US231 (aka South River Rd., the light by McDonald's, Bruno's, Triple XXX, and the new River Market). Turn South onto US 231. Continue down 231 over the Wabash and through the light at Hwy. 25. The next light (3rd since you turned off of 26) is CR 500S. To get to the race site, turn right and it is about 1 mile on the right. To get to parking on race day turn left at the light and left at the first stop sign. Parking is at McCutcheon HS which will be on your right.
