    Directions To Race:
  • From Butler and East: Follow U.S. Route 422 West to "north Shore-Moraine State Park" exit. (The sign is brown and it's at the exit; there is no previous warning). Follow park road to North Shore (Lakeview) swimming area.
  • From I-79 and West: Follow U.S. Route 422 East (Butler/New Castle exit) to the Moraine State Park exit. (This is actually the South Shore exit, but the signs for east bound exit just read "Moraine State Park".) Turn left at the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, and get back on U.S. Route 422 heading West. Follow U.S. Route 422 West to "North Shore-Moraine State Park" exit. (The sign is brown and it's at the exit; there is no previous warning). Follow park road to North Shore (Lakeview) swimming area.

    Course Info: Off Road Triathlon
  • Swim: 1000 meters, average water temp is 70 degrees. Swim will be well marked with buoys & athletes will swim in a clock wise direction, with the buoys on their right. ( DCNR life guards will be stationed at intervals along the swim in kayaks.)
  • Mountain Bike: 11 miles. The mountain bike course is a combination of fire roads, single track trail & some park roads. Terrain is rolling & typical of western Pennsylvania. (Their will be volunteers along the course but there will not be aid stations.)
  • Trail Run: 4.2 miles. The trail run is almost entirely run on single track trails. Some very technical. A good portion of the trail run will follow the Ridge Top Trail, located to the south of the beach parking areas. Terrain is rolling & typical of western Pennsylvania. (There will be 2 water aid stations along the course.) There will be an aid station located at the Start/Transition/Finish area with water, Gatorade, & fruit. Gatorade will be providing plenty of product, including bike bottles full of Gatorade for the bike course.
  • The Start/Transition/Finish area is located near the beach on the south shore. Just off of state road 259.
  • There is plenty of parking, hot showers, a food concession, play grounds for the small children, boat rentals, pretty much anything that you could need for a day of fun.

    Location: Fairmount Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, west of Black Road
    Course Info: .8K (.5 mile) swim, 25K (15.5 mile) bike, 5K (3.1 mile) run.
  • The course runs entirely along the Martin Luther King Drive side of Fairmount Park. The start area is located just off Martin Luther King Drive near Parking Lot #4 The transition area is also located just off Martin Luther King Drive, near the base of Black Road, and the race finishes on Martin Luther King Drive near the base of Black Road.
  • Swim: The .8K swim is a point to point swim downstream in the Schuylkill River. The swim starts just off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Parking Lot #4 and finishes at the transition area near the bottom of Black Road.
  • Bike: After exiting the transition area, participants will ride a two-loop bike course through Fairmount Park that takes place on roads that are completely closed to traffic. The loop contains some fast and flat sections on Martin Luther King Drive as well as some small, short hills.
  • Run: The 5K run is an out and back, starting from the transition area and running toward the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Martin Luther King Drive. The run finishes just before arriving back at the transition area.
