World's Toughest Mountain Bike Ride
- Cross the mightly Sierra Nevada mountains in a single day
- Start Time: 6:00am
- Register On Line At: worldstoughest.com
- Course Info: You will start at 6:00am, Saturday August 9th, in the historic gold rush town of Auburn, just outside the Sacramento valley in the Sierra foothills. 12+ hours later, you will enjoy most dramatic finish line you will ever see in your athletic career - a panoramic view of the magnificent Lake Tahoe from the crest of the Sierra. You'll cover 82 challenging miles over remote logging roads and long-lost trails, retracing the steps of our forefathers from the Gold Rush era - over 13,000 feet of near non-stop climbing! *This event is for experienced ultra-distance athletes only. You will travel into the remote and desolate Sierra and face some extremely techical sections. Most of the route is non-technical, but climbing is non-stop and a 10-mile stretch will require much walking and expert technique. The ride will be supported with stocked aid stations and bus transportation from Lake Tahoe back to Auburn. Entrants will enjoy a lavish goodie bag with an embroidered winter garment, jumbo water bottles and nutrition. A hot meal and ice cream await you at the finish line!
