Greater Cleveland Triathlon
- Final Update
Packet pick up for the Greater Cleveland Triathlon will
be on Saturday, August 11, just after the Youth Triathlon from
10:00 AM to 6:00PM.
Please be reminded that you must pick up your packet in
person and also show a photo ID.
While you are in the area you can spend some time on the course
to become familiar with it. You may want to also bring your
beach towel and spend some time on Ohio's longest beach.
At this point the weather is tracking to be hot and humid with
overcast skies. With that in mind, you should review your
hydration plan for this coming Sunday.

Course Cutoff Times
You will need to complete each leg of the course within the
designated cutoff time listed below, or you will be disqualified
from the race.
Swim:1-hour & 15-minutes from the start of the last swim wave.
Bike:5-hours & 30-minutes from the start of the last swim wave.
Run:8-hours from the start of the last swim wave.
If for any reason you are unable to complete the event, you
must report to the timing tent (located at the finish line) and
turn in your ChampionChip. This is mandatory for your safety and
for the peace of mind for your friends and family.

Attention All Relay Team Members!!!
If you are team captain it is importatnt that you share this
information with all your team members.
Your timing chip will act as your baton for your team. You will
hand off the chip at your assigned bike rack.
All relay members must pick up their packets in person and
show a photo ID.

Railroad Crossings Procedure
Anytime you travel north to south in Northeast Ohio you are
bound to encounter some railroad tracks. It's a fact of life in
this part of the country.
Each of the bike courses will cross railroad tracks. In the
event that you are stopped by a train. You will be instructed by
an on-site volunteer as to what your assigned number will be.
This number will be recorded and your final finish time will be
adjusted based on how long you were stopped.

Lost & Found
It is no secret that you need a lot of equipment to participate
in multisport events. It is also no secret that you spend a lot
of money on equipment.
When you do your checklist of items for the race that you also
make sure that you have your name on as many pieces as possible.
There will be a Lost & Found box, but I can tell you from
experience that we always end up with a pretty good selection of
items. We attempt the best we can to get these items back to
their rightful owners. Be a wise triathlete and mark all of
your equipment!

The Greater Cleveland Triathlon will once again be a USAT
sanctioned event for 2007.
In addition to being the governing body of multisport in the
United States, USAT is also a non-profit organization.
Membership fees have been raised for the coming year. In
addition, the one day race fee has been raised to $10.00
The cost for a youth membership is only $5.00 for the entire
year. So why wait? lets get them youngsters signed up today!
Each person that participates in the 2007 GCT will be
required to have a USAT membership or one day permit.
To become a USA Triathlon Member
Click Here to print out a
Temporary ID Card (valid at any USAT sanctioned event). Your
permanant I.D. will be sent to you via regular mail.

Greater Cleveland Youth Triathlon
We will open final registration/packet pickup and body marking
for the youth race at 6:15 AM on Saturday. Please do not
forget to bring you USAT card

Help Us Keep This a Green Event!
When planning this event we used the principles of
Recycle-Reduce-Reuse. We would like to ask that you also join us
in supporting these tenets of making this a Green Event.
Please note that we will have specially marked recycling
containers for aluminum cans, plastic bottles and paper items.
We will also look to reuse the pins that you are given in you
race packets for other events.
