N/A Overfalls Lightship Aquathlon The re-scheduled Overfalls Lightship Aquathlon was held last Saturday morning by Surf Racer Sports which consisted of a ˝ mile bay swim followed by a 5k out and back 5k run. The Lewes event is the first in a pair of Surf Racer Sports events with the second event scheduled for Sunday morning, September 3rd in Rehoboth Beach. Proceeds of the Lewes event benefited the Lightship Overfalls. The weather did not favor the event in July, however a group of 34 individuals and 6 teams took part in last weekends make-up event. “I felt the 2nd Annual Overfalls Aquathlon went very well,” commented organizer Kent Buckson. “Although the race was postponed on July 21st due to weather, I felt the re-scheduled date of August 19th still helped to raise awareness & money for the Overfalls Lightship. I hope next year to increase the participant numbers in hopes of raising more money and awareness for the Overfalls Lightship”.
